Derawan Island

A bunch of people gathered at the end of the dock, seemed to welcome the arrival of our three hours waves shaken trip from Tarakan. But I was wrong, they are actually observing a pair of turtle eating a banana leaf on the edge of the dock.

Previously I have always dreamed of snorkeling with turtles at sea and I always missed it on my previous visits to Gili Trawangan, Karimun Java, and other destinations. Now in front of me a pair of turtle shell with a diameter of approximately 1 meter swim under the dock quietly without human disturbed about. The next minute I was swimming with them.

Derawan Island is the main and the most crowded island of Derawan the archipelago, East Kalimantan. Facilities on the island is the most complete than the other islands.
